- choose your own topic, style and focus (Please think about the Honor Code, when you choose the theme. Positive themes are preferred; too much violent pictures or dishonest plot are unacceptable. Without these elements, I believe that you can still make your movie creative and attractive.)
- at the beginning of your movie and the text of your play, add information such as each group member's name, class title/name, BYU-I
- introduce the background of the story as well as characters in the dialogue write each character's lines
- write 5 questions about the dialogue for your audience and insert them into your movie (e.g., between "The End" and Credits)
- create a vocabulary and grammar list of your play (e.g. Please write an instruction paragraph and explain that this play will help students review the following language points.) and cover the important language points (e.g. vocabulary and grammar) from each of the previous lessons and underline the language points in the text
- rehearse, videotape the play, make a 5-10 minute movie and submit the link of your video on I-learn (You can also bring a flash drive my office and make a copy to my computer)
- movie making (e.g., animation, transition and effect) and subtitles (English and Chinese)
- speak fluently and accurately without reading a printed text, perform vividly, type correctly without grammar and spelling mistakes
- 0.5%-1% extra credits (depending on the quality) will be given to those very creative and original movies that are publishable for our course website (Note: To meet this standard, all music and image etc. you use from other sources should not violate copywrite. Therefore, please check whether the music/image is an open source or copywrite protected.).
Submission:
- submit the text of your play on I-learn
- a list of important language points (e.g. vocabulary and grammar) that your
play may help your audience to review
- You will get a lot of instructions and feedback if you start writing the
play early. Please email me and I can email the tech center in the library to
let you borrow a video camera. You can also get tech support from them.
- Please submit a draft of your play and then a plan for how you plan to shoot
the movie before you start moving making. The TA will help you with grammar and
expression and I will help you with the content and skills.

everyone.com)
- a 5-10 minute video of your play (this will be shared in class with other
groups for comments and feedback)
